OCER SUPER HORSE/Equine 2003
(Take Me Straight to the Standings)

The Candy Cup points will accumulate from year to year, with the award going to the horse with the highest lifetime total.(Beginning with the 2000 ride season.)
The Candy Cup Award is an annual equine award to be presented by Custom Iron Workers, Inc. in honor of Monte Mitts’ horse Candy. This award is not sponsored or funded by OCER. It is intended to encourage people to join OCER and ride OCER rides by honoring the hardworking equine who performs consistantly throughout it's career. To be eligible to accrue points & win the award both the owner (includes owner of leased horses) and riders of the equine must be OCER members. Points will accumulate only at OCER santioned rides. If an owner does not renew, horses points will be kept on file, and they will pick up where they left off if/when the owner rejoins. Points remain with the horse if ownership changes, as long as owner is a member. There will be no limit to the number of riders an equine may have, as long as they are all OCER members. Limited Distance** and Endurance Rides are both eligible and points from each will be combined towards this award. The winner will receive both a trophy and a certificate, 2-10 place will reeive certificates. The Top Ten will also receive gift certificates. You can use it towards any product we (Custom Iron Workers and Stablegear Tack) sell. (Not to be combined with other discounts, such as monthly specials and clearance items.) All discount certificates expire in 1 year
This award program may be terminated at any time by Monte or Nancy Mitts.

The Cup will be awarded to the high point equine, whose points are cumulative from year to year.
Points are determined by the following criteria:

Mileage Points (All Equine) Weight Division Points:(All Equine)
25-74 mile rides, 1 point per mile
75-100 mile rides, 1.5 points per mile. 		Juniors gets 50 Points
FW gets 80 Points
LW gets 88 Points
MW gets 101 Points
HW gets 118 Points

Bonus Points --- 3 Catagories:

1. Placement Points(All Equine)
Placement Points--- will be based on the number of starting riders
(with 20 riders, 1st place = 20 points, 2nd place = 19 points down to 20th place = 1 point.

** In keeping with my philosophy that Limited Distance should not be a speed race, equine entered in limited distance events will not earn Time Bonus points as the amount earned is based on the speed of travel. Mileage, weight division, and placement points and tough trail will count the same in both divisions. (Monte Mitts)

2. Time Bonus Points (Endurance Only) 3. Tough Trail Bonus Points(All Equine)
will be based on 120 points to the first place horse, reduced by 1 point per minute to all following horses for 120 minutes . All finishers more than 120 minutes behind the winning horse will receive 0 time bonus points. 1/2 point per minute over 50% allotted time. Every equine receives this based on the time of the first place equine. For example, on a 50 mile ride, if the winning time was greater than 6 hours, every equine would receive ˝ point for every minute the winner took longer than 6 hours.

NO SPECIAL REGISTRATION REQUIRED, MONTE WILL AUTOMATICALLY FIGURE POINTS FOR ALL MEMEBERS. WINNER MAY BE REQUIRED TO SHOW PROOF OF HORSE OWNERSHIP DURING THE PERIOD IN WHICH QUALIFYING RIDES WERE RIDDEN. If you have any questions contact Monte Mitts @ 417-476-2505.
